Ingredients
- 2 lb lean ground beef (90/10 or 93/7 fat content)
- 1/2 Tbsp olive oil
- 1 tsp salt
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 large yellow onion (finely diced)
- 1/4 cup mayonnaise
- 8 slices medium cheddar cheese
- 6 oz shredded cheddar cheese
- 24 dinner rolls
- 2 Tbsp unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 Tbsp sesame seeds
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a rimmed baking sheet.
- In a large skillet over medium-high heat, heat olive oil. Add diced onion and ground beef; cook until browned. Season with salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
- Stir in mayonnaise once beef is cooked through.
- Place bottom halves of dinner rolls on the baking sheet. Layer with sliced cheese, then spread beef mixture evenly over the cheese. Top with shredded cheddar.
- Cover with top halves of rolls, brush with melted butter, and sprinkle with sesame seeds.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes until cheese is melted and tops are golden brown.
