  • 1 Tbsp. softened butter
  • 1 Tbsp. olive oil
  • 1/2 white onion, finely diced
  • 1 lb. ground beef
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 Tbsp. yellow mustard
  • 1 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • pepper, to taste
  • 1 pack dinner rolls, 12 count (I use King's Hawaiian Savory Butter Rolls)
  • 16 slices American cheese (I use Boar's Head)
  • 3 Tbsp. butter, melted
  • pinch of salt and garlic powder
  • 2 tsp. white sesame seeds
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp. sweet pickle relish
  • 2 tsp. sugar
  • 1 tsp. distilled white vinegar
  • salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and butter a baking sheet.
  2. Sauté diced onion in olive oil until translucent; add ground beef and cook until browned.
  3. Mix in garlic, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and pepper.
  4. Layer the bottom halves of dinner rolls on the baking sheet; add cheese and meat mixture.
  5. Top with the other half of the rolls and brush with melted butter mixed with garlic powder.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes until heated through and cheese is melted.
  7. Prepare the burger sauce by whisking mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, sugar, vinegar, salt, and pepper together.
