Description

Chili Garlic Udon Noodles are a quick and flavorful dish perfect for busy weeknights. With just a few simple ingredients, you can whip up a satisfying meal that bursts with umami and spice.


Ingredients

  • 300 g udon noodles
  • 2 cloves garlic
  • 1 thumb fresh ginger
  • 1 tbsp chili oil
  • 1 tsp chili flakes (optional)
  • 1 tbsp soy sauce
  • 1 tbsp dark rice vinegar
  • 4 tbsp granola/peanut oil
  • 1 egg (optional garnish)
  • Sesame seeds and spring onion greens (for garnish)

Instructions

  1. Mince garlic and ginger; mix in a heatproof bowl with chili oil, chili flakes, salt, and sesame seeds.
  2. Heat granola/peanut oil in a small saucepan until smoking; pour over the mixture in the bowl.
  3. Add soy sauce, dark rice vinegar, and sesame oil to the bowl; stir well.
  4. Cook udon noodles according to package instructions; drain and combine with the sauce mixture.
  5. Serve garnished with a fried egg, sliced spring onions, and black sesame seeds.
