  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for swirl)
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8×8-inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter and sugar until smooth.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, blending well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
  4. Mix in baking powder and salt, then gradually add flour until just combined.
  5. In a separate bowl, combine granulated sugar and ground cinnamon for the swirl.
  6. Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan; sprinkle half of the cinnamon-sugar mixture on top.
  7. Spread remaining batter over the swirl; top with remaining cinnamon-sugar mixture and gently swirl through the batter.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes until edges are lightly browned and a toothpick comes out clean.
  9. Cool completely before cutting into squares.
