  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 15 oz tomato sauce
  • 6 oz tomato paste
  • ½ tsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 tbsp dried parsley flakes
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • Crushed red pepper flakes, to taste
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ cup fresh basil leaves (optional)
  • Spaghetti noodles

Instructions

  1. Brown the ground beef and chopped onion in a skillet over medium heat until cooked through. Drain excess grease.
  2. Stir in tomato sauce, tomato paste, seasonings, Worcestershire sauce, sugar, and mix well.
  3. Add water to the skillet and bring to a boil; reduce heat and let simmer for about 20 minutes.
  4. If using fresh basil leaves, stir them in just before serving.
  5. Serve over cooked spaghetti noodles.
