  • 6 cloves garlic (minced)
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium beef broth
  • 1/2 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/4 cup hoisin sauce
  • 2 tbsp cornstarch
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 4 green onions (sliced)

Instructions

  1. 1. Brown the ground beef in a skillet over medium-high heat for about 5 minutes. Add ginger and garlic during the last 2 minutes.
  2. 2. Cook the linguine or fettuccine according to package instructions until al dente, then drain.
  3. 3. Drain excess fat from the cooked beef and stir in brown sugar, beef broth, soy sauce, hoisin sauce, black pepper, and red pepper flakes (if using).
  4. 4. Mix cornstarch with water in a small bowl to create a slurry, then add it to the skillet and simmer until thickened (2–3 minutes).
  5. 5. Toss cooked noodles into the skillet with the beef mixture, coating them evenly in the sauce.
  6. 6. Let sit for another 2–3 minutes before serving with sliced green onions on top.
