- 2 cups all-purpose flour

- 1/2 cup oil

- 2 tsp vanilla
- 1 cup boiling water
- 1/2 cup butter softened
- 6–8 Tbsp milk
- 1/2 cup cocoa powder
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1 pinch salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare two 9-inch round cake pans by lining them with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt until blended.
- Add the milk, oil, eggs, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Mix until smooth.
- Carefully stir in the boiling water until fully combined; the batter will be thin.
- Pour the batter evenly into prepared pans and bake for 30–35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Allow cakes to cool for 10 minutes in pans before transferring them to cooling racks.
- For frosting, beat together softened butter, cocoa powder, powdered sugar, vanilla, and a pinch of salt.
- Gradually add enough milk to achieve a spreadable consistency.
- Once cooled, place one layer on a serving tray, spread about a cup of frosting on top, then place the second layer on top and frost both sides and top as desired.
