  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup buttermilk
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • ½ cup honey
  • 23 tablespoons hot sauce (to taste)
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Pat dry the shrimp and season with garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper.
  2. Set up a breading station with flour, buttermilk, and panko breadcrumbs.
  3. Dip each shrimp in flour, then buttermilk, followed by panko until well-coated.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a deep frying pan to about 350°F (175°C).
  5. Fry the shrimp in batches for 2–3 minutes per side until golden brown and crispy.
  6. In a saucepan, combine honey, hot sauce, butter, red pepper flakes (if using), and apple cider vinegar over low heat until smooth.
  7. Drizzle the hot honey glaze over the fried shrimp before serving.
