Description

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup reduced sodium soy sauce
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon crushed red-pepper flakes (or more to taste)
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together brown sugar, soy sauce, sesame oil, crushed red-pepper flakes, and ground ginger until well combined.
  2. Heat vegetable oil in a cast iron skillet over medium-high heat. Sauté minced garlic for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  3. Add ground beef to the skillet and cook until browned, about 3-5 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
  4. Stir in the prepared sauce and sliced green onions. Simmer for about 2 minutes until heated through.
  5. Serve immediately, garnishing with sesame seeds if desired.
