  • 1 teaspoon EACH cayenne, garlic powder, salt, black pepper
  • ½ cup frying oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon cayenne powder
  • ½ teaspoon EACH chili powder, smoked paprika, garlic powder
  • 4 burger buns (buttered and toasted)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the chicken by slicing breasts into cutlets and seasoning them.
  2. Create a buttermilk marinade by whisking together buttermilk and hot sauce.
  3. Mix flour, cornstarch, cayenne, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper in another bowl.
  4. Dredge the chicken in the flour mixture, then dip it in the buttermilk mixture before coating it again with flour.
  5. Heat oil in a frying pan until it reaches 350ºF and fry the chicken until golden brown and cooked through (165ºF internal temperature).
  6. Prepare the Nashville hot sauce by mixing hot oil from frying with brown sugar and spices.
  7. Assemble sandwiches by spreading mayonnaise on toasted buns and adding fried chicken, coleslaw, and pickles.
