Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease three 9-inch cake pans.
  2. Prepare each cake batter separately by creaming butter and sugar until fluffy; add eggs one at a time. Mix in flavorings and yogurt.
  3. Combine dry ingredients in another bowl; alternate mixing with buttermilk until smooth.
  4. Pour batters into prepared pans and bake for about 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Cool completely on wire racks before assembly.
  5. Frost layers with corresponding buttercream and stack them carefully.
