  • 9 cups powdered sugar
  • 67 tbsp water or milk
  • 6 Reeses, chopped
  • Pinch of salt
  • 6 oz semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 8 Reeses, cut in half
  • Crumble Reeses

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans.
  2. In a large bowl, mix flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
  3. Add milk, vegetable oil, vanilla extract, and eggs; mix until combined.
  4. Slowly stir in hot water until smooth.
  5. Divide batter among prepared pans and bake for about 22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to a cooling rack.
  7. For frosting: Beat butter and peanut butter together; gradually add powdered sugar and adjust consistency with water or milk as needed.
  8. Assemble the cake by layering frosting between cooled cakes and topping with chocolate ganache made from heated cream poured over chocolate chips.
