  • 1 can Pumpkin Puree (15 oz)
  • ½ cup unsalted butter (softened)
  • 4 oz Cream Cheese (softened)
  • 12 oz Orange Candy Melts
  • 3 Tbsp Vegetable Shortening (divided)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven according to package instructions for the cake mix.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, blend together yellow cake mix, pumpkin puree, and softened butter until smooth.
  3. Pour the mixture into a greased baking sheet and bake until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool completely.
  4. In another bowl, beat together softened cream cheese and powdered sugar until creamy.
  5. Crumble the cooled cake into a separate bowl and mix with the cream cheese frosting until combined.
  6. Shape into 1-inch balls and chill for at least 30 minutes.
  7. Melt orange candy melts with vegetable shortening and dip each cake ball using a stick for easy handling.
  8. Allow excess coating to drip before placing upright in foam or styrofoam blocks.
