  • 8 oz butter (for frosting)
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt (for frosting)
  • 7 cups powdered sugar (for frosting)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease three 8-inch cake pans.
  2. In a bowl, combine pumpkin puree, sugar, oil, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, spices, and salt.
  4. Gradually mix dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  5. Pour batter evenly into prepared pans and bake for 25-30 minutes until a toothpick comes out clean.
  6. Prepare salted caramel by melting sugar in a saucepan until golden brown; stir in butter and cream.
