Instructions

  1. In a bowl, mix flour, sugar, yeast, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, combine warm milk, melted butter, egg, food coloring, and vanilla. Mix both bowls together until soft dough forms.
  2. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth and elastic. Place it in an oiled bowl and let it rise covered for about an hour.
  3. Prepare the filling by mixing softened butter with brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll out the dough into a rectangle, spread the filling evenly, roll tightly into a log, and slice into pieces.
  4. Place slices in a greased baking dish to rise again for 30 minutes before baking at 350°F (175°C) for about 25-30 minutes.
  5. While they bake, prepare the cream cheese frosting by blending softened cream cheese with butter and powdered sugar until smooth. Frost the rolls once cooled slightly.
