  • 450g ground pork sausage
  • 12 medium shrimp (peeled and deveined)
  • 4 cups cooked white rice
  • 1.5 cups mixed onions and bell peppers (finely chopped)
  • 480ml chicken broth
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil, divided
  • 1/4 cup plain flour
  • 1 teaspoon seafood seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon dried oregano
  • 3 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 1 tablespoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 0.5 teaspoon ground black pepper, or to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1 pinch cayenne pepper

Instructions

  1. Season shrimp with seafood seasoning.
  2. In a large skillet, heat oil over medium-high heat and cook shrimp for 2–3 minutes per side until opaque. Remove and set aside.
  3. Add remaining oil to the skillet; sauté ground beef and sausage until browned.
  4. Stir in onions, bell peppers, and garlic; cook until softened.
  5. Sprinkle spices over the mixture; stir in flour to combine.
  6. Pour in chicken broth; simmer for 5–7 minutes.
  7. Fold in cooked rice; simmer for an additional 5 minutes.
  8. Return shrimp to the skillet and mix gently before serving.
