  • 8 small corn tortillas or hard taco shells
  • 1/2 small purple cabbage, shredded
  • 1 large avocado, diced
  • 1/2 red onion, diced
  • 4 oz Cotija cheese, grated
  • 1/3 cup sour cream
  • 1/3 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 ½ tablespoons lime juice
  • ¾ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¾ teaspoon Sriracha sauce
  • 1 garlic clove, pressed or minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Lime wedges for serving

Instructions

  1. In a medium bowl, combine shrimp with garlic, sea salt, black pepper, cumin, and cayenne. Stir well to coat.
  2. Heat olive oil in a non-stick pan over medium-high heat and sauté shrimp for 1-2 minutes per side until pink and opaque. Remove from heat.
  3. Toast tortillas over an open flame or skillet until warm.
  4. Prepare toppings: shred cabbage, dice avocado and onion, and chop cilantro.
  5. In a small bowl, whisk together sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice, garlic powder, and Sriracha to make the sauce.
  6. Assemble tacos by placing shrimp on tortillas and adding desired toppings; drizzle with sauce before serving.
