  • 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper (cracked)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder (or cayenne powder – optional)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 cups barbecue sauce
  • 3 tablespoons garlic (minced)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/21 tablespoon cayenne pepper (optional for heat)
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Remove the tough membrane from the ribs and place them on a baking sheet lined with aluminum foil.
  3. In a mixing bowl, combine the dry rub ingredients: garlic powder, onion powder, paprika, salt, black pepper, cumin, and optional chili powder.
  4. Sprinkle the rub over both sides of the ribs and drizzle with olive oil; coat evenly.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 2 hours.
  6. In the last 5 minutes of cooking, mix together all sauce ingredients in a bowl.
  7. Remove foil, apply sauce generously on the ribs, increase oven temperature to 460°F (240°C), and bake uncovered for another 10 minutes.
  8. Broil on medium-high for about 3 minutes until edges are charred.
  9. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
