  • 1 ½ lbs ground beef
  • ½ lb ground Italian sausage
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup bread crumbs
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese, grated
  • 2 tbsp Italian seasoning
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • ¼ cup marinara sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, Italian sausage, onion, garlic, bread crumbs, eggs, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, and salt and pepper.
  3. Shape mixture into a rectangular loaf on a baking sheet.
  4. Create a well in the center and fill with mozzarella cheese and marinara sauce.
  5. Fold the meat around the filling to seal.
  6. Top with remaining marinara sauce and Parmesan cheese.
  7. Bake for 45–55 minutes until the internal temperature reaches 160°F (70°C).
  8. Let rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
