- 1 9-inch deep dish pie shell
- 4 green onions (thinly sliced)
- 1/3 cup chopped green bell pepper
- 1/3 cup chopped red bell pepper
- 2 Tbsp butter
- 4 oz smoked ham (chopped)
- 1 1/2 cups shredded colby jack or cheddar cheese
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 6 large eggs
- 1 tsp garlic salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- 1/4 tsp ground mustard
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F. Prick the bottom of the pie shell and bake for 5 minutes.
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add green onions and bell peppers; sauté until softened.
- Layer half of the ham and cheese in the pie shell.
- Whisk together heavy cream, eggs, and seasonings; stir in cooked vegetables.
- Pour half of the custard mixture over the first layer of ham and cheese; repeat layers.
- Bake for 10 minutes at 375°F; then reduce temperature to 350°F and bake for another 30-40 minutes until set.
- Let cool for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
