  • 1 9-inch deep dish pie shell
  • 4 green onions (thinly sliced)
  • 1/3 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1/3 cup chopped red bell pepper
  • 2 Tbsp butter
  • 4 oz smoked ham (chopped)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded colby jack or cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 6 large eggs
  • 1 tsp garlic salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 1/2 tsp onion powder
  • 1/4 tsp ground mustard

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F. Prick the bottom of the pie shell and bake for 5 minutes.
  2. In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add green onions and bell peppers; sauté until softened.
  3. Layer half of the ham and cheese in the pie shell.
  4. Whisk together heavy cream, eggs, and seasonings; stir in cooked vegetables.
  5. Pour half of the custard mixture over the first layer of ham and cheese; repeat layers.
  6. Bake for 10 minutes at 375°F; then reduce temperature to 350°F and bake for another 30-40 minutes until set.
  7. Let cool for at least 20 minutes before slicing.
