  • ½ cup chopped pecans (optional)
  • ½ cup butter (for caramel sauce)
  • 1 cup brown sugar (for caramel sauce)
  • ½ cup heavy cream (for caramel sauce)
  • ¼ cup whiskey (bourbon or preferred brand)
  • ½ teaspoon vanilla extract (for caramel sauce)
  • ¼ teaspoon salt (for caramel sauce)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, combine cubed bread with a mixture of milk, cream, brown sugar, eggs, vanilla, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Let soak for 10 minutes.
